Crow's Nest

Here's where our vacation started. We boarded the Freedom of the Seas in Miami and immediately started wandering around the ship. We ended up on deck at the front of the ship on the helicopter pad watching preparations to launch. We noticed a crow on the crow's nest, believe it or not, and he was having a great time crowing constantly. This was one of the best amusing moments of the cruise. We went forward to watch and as we departed the dock the ship's horn was sounded. A very loud, long blast that caused the crow, in mid-crow, to literally fall off the crow's nest. It was as if he had fallen over in a dead faint but he quickly recovered and didn't come back.

Tempietto
The romanticism of this house makes it truly exceptional. The playfully charming Tempietto was built in 1822 in pure neoclassical style. It was conceived as a place to which to retire - and not necessarily alone - and true to its purpose stands in one of the most beautiful spots of the park within a slightly sloping clearance which blossoms with poppies and daisies in spring.
The front of the house, as with a real temple, is an open but protected portico where guests have their meals when the weather is fine. The main facade of house was restored in spring 2009, the interior decoration received a facelift at the same time. The two lateral facades will be restored in 2010. Guests should be aware that the house is fairly isolated within the park.
