Below is an excerpt from my travel blog. Cheers.

I don't know if Puerto Vallarta has ever received bad weather. It's always a concern when heading to Florida or the Caribbean for a week's vacation, but Puerto Vallarta's weather is unbeatable. 80s, warm and a hint of a breeze. I'm sure the perfect weather is a result of it's location - located on Mexico's Pacific Coast, hidden in a huge tropical, palm treed bay with enormous hazy mountains dotting the landscape in the background. It is the iconic Mexican resort town.

Here's the bottom line about Puerto Vallarta - If you're the traveler who enjoys an all inclusive, everything at your feet (pool, fine dining, spa, golfing, at a moments notice room service etc.), then Puerto Vallarta is your place. I enjoyed my 3 night stay at the Grand Velas Hotel and Resort. It was relaxing, easy and the people running the hotel were absolutely wonderful. I found Puerto Vallarta very modern, very friendly and extremely safe. It actually changed my view on the safety issue surrounding Mexico.

I would argue, as my friend put it so eloquently, Puerto Vallarta is not a place for the imagination. By this I mean you come to this place for peace of mind. You don't want to have a worry or concern in the world all the while enjoying the sun and beach. It is not a place where you become immersed in the culture, you will not meet the locals and I doubt people really ever leave the resort they stay at. If you're looking for an adventure, Puerto Vallarta is not the place for you. If you're looking to escape, relax your mind and forget about your worries, then Puerto Vallarta is your place.
